Domaine 2nite + September schedule
Posted on
Greetings fellow Earthlings.
Hey there Ms. and Mr., here’s a missive you’d miss if dismissed. It’s been a somewhat quiet summer, though I’m still playing a whole bunch. As always, keep checking out jwalterhawkes.com for the must up-to-the-minute (read: last minute) updates to the schedule.
Tonight I’ll be hitting it with Matt Ray on piano/vocals and Todd Londagin on trombone/vocals as we do our “Dulcetones” three part harmony schtick at Domaine Bar a Vins. (Speak softly and carry a big schtick! – That’s what I always say.) Tonight should be really fun… Domaine was going to be closed tonight as part of their extended Labor Day weekend. When I told (bartender) Matt A. that I already had the Dulcetones booked, he lobbied the owners/management to reopen a night early so that we could perform. <— see…that’s the special insider content that I don’t put on the socials haha…. If you’re even mildly inclined to do so, tonight would be a great night to come out and show the bar it was worth opening a day early. Plus, it is really a special thing when we get this little group together.
Man, there’s so much stuff on the schedule I’ll not go through each one like usual. But some highlights:
- Note I’m often playing ragtime with Terry Waldo’s Gotham City Band for the 34th Street partnership – I usually don’t know about those dates until the week of, so keep checking jwalterhawkes.com
- It’ll be a really great band at Swing 46 this Friday with Bill Malchow. Pony up for the Midtown overpriced food and drinks! Stay for the Midtown underpaid band hahah.
- I’m playing both Saturday and Sunday in really fun mellow bands in Red Hook. I love me some Red Hook.
Autumnly yours,
