The Blat-o-box
Making the music sound great
The Blat-o-box is my small and mighty recording/rehearsal studio. I can record any composing or other project here that fits the space. The Blat-o-box features a nice collection of vintage and modern instruments and recording gear.
Even with the amazing advances in digital technology, I strongly follow the concept that music sounds better with human beings moving air to make sound. I’m lucky that I live in NYC, and that I have access to its incredible pool of talented musicians and recording engineers. Once music is composed, I can record it using these incredible people. If the project fits the space, we can record and mix it all in house at the Blat-o-box.
Most all of the music for Peg + Cat was recorded here (outside of the orchestral cues.) I have also recorded a multitude of horn/instrument overdubs and a number of complete CDs/LPs in the space.
